Introduction to Fenglin Accompanying Class：

　　 Seeing the lack in rural areas, the counseling teacher started an after-school tutoring program in 2010 at the Fenglin Mountain Xing Village with just a table at home, accompanied by their own child and children from the community—four children in total. They began tutoring, and soon realized that some of these children in the community had no dinner and had to go to bed hungry, waiting for the next day's school lunch. As a result, the teacher began providing meals for the children. Word spread, and soon the number of children increased. At one point, there were over 40 children and adults sharing a meal together.

Later, the program moved from the Xing Village to Fenglin Township, where many more children were found wandering the streets or struggling with learning disabilities. The need for after-school tutoring was great. Driven by love and a commitment not to give up on any child willing to respond, the program expanded from basic after-school tutoring and academic support to offering dinners, multi-intelligence learning, character education, camp experiences, and more. The goal was to provide children with richer learning and life experiences, enabling them to create a different future.

We sincerely hope that the children, through proper care and learning, will break the cycle of poverty in their families. In the past decade or so, we've watched many children grow from being weak and small into tall and strong individuals. Those with behavioral problems developed good character, and many young children have grown up, moving from elementary to middle school, high school, and even university. Over the years, the futures of many students have been changed. Some have entered Hualien Senior High School, universities, or nursing colleges, acquiring skills that allow them to find stable employment and no longer rely on social assistance.

This year, a student who graduated from the Fenglin after-school tutoring program and is now attending nursing school returned to share her experience with younger students. She encouraged them to persevere and not give up, as it would lead to a different future. Additionally, this year, one of the students in the program was accepted into Hualien Girls' High School. She could hardly believe it was possible and emotionally said, "The Fenglin after-school tutoring program gave me a sense of family." We hope that this work in rural areas will lead to more beautiful stories.

Looking back on the past years, we are full of gratitude and look forward to continuing to accompany each child and family in need, bringing transformation to their lives and offering them a different outlook on life.

　　When I was young, I would look at the branded sneakers on other people's feet and think to myself, "One day, I'll be able to wear them too, with my own ability..." Now, I'm no longer that child who could only envy others, and owning branded sneakers is no longer an unattainable dream. But... when I see groups of children, I can't help but think of my younger self. I want to let them wear branded sneakers and fulfill the dream I had when I was a child.。
